The most expensive gear I had to buy – but to feel (and be) safe on a dark road between two villages, in the wood, on a dark winter morning, with quite some traffic…
Front light : Lumicycle LED3si.(here mounted on my previous Veltop I).
Why ? Was the only light I found with that glow-ring on the front of the light (that helps you to be seen from the side by other road users), and very good reviews.
Pros : different power modes (one control light flashing in different colors to tell you in which mode you are in – very clever and nice !), very bright, may also be used in the day just to be better seen. Top-notch construction. Awesome product.
Cons : the LED control light color may hardly be seen in the day light.
Experience : I also bought a cable extension, to be able to fix the battery in the back of the trike. Gabriel (thanks !) made me that metal piece to hold it in front of the Veltop I windshield. Now, with the Veltop II, I bought the metal arm they propose. Expensive to buy, but worth the price I guess.
Here below, in the “bright mode” I always use (not the “boost” one), in comparison with a Peugeot 5008, with low traffic lights (top) and regular ones (below).
